Adult Martial Arts Classes in Georgetown
Start Wing Chun as a beginner. Build skill through hands-on practice, clear instruction, and training with other adults.
Adults-only Ving Tsun (Wing Chun) at 1508 B Leander Road, Georgetown, TX 78628.
A place to begin, even if you have never trained
Group practice builds a foundation in Wing Chun movement.
You do not need a martial arts background to start here. Moy Tung Kung Fu Academy teaches Ving Tsun, commonly called Wing Chun, to adults who want practical self-defense, a physical discipline, and a consistent place to train. Adults train with adults, and instruction begins at a level appropriate to the student.
Wing Chun emphasizes close-range movement, direct striking, balance, structure, and partner sensitivity. You learn through practice and correction: how to organize your stance, move your hands and feet together, and respond when a partner changes pressure. Read more about our self-defense training if personal protection is your main reason for starting.
What your first classes are like
Meet your instructors
Your two-class introduction lets you experience the group training format, discuss your goals, and ask questions about the school.
Start with fundamentals
Expect an introduction to stance, movement, structure, striking, and basic self-defense concepts. You do not need to know a form or technique before arriving.
Build through repetition
Partner practice and instructor correction help connect the movements to timing and distance. The school uses progressive resistance as students develop.
Your first month: build a foundation
Partner practice connects structure, timing, and movement.
Early training centers on fundamentals: stance, structure, striking, footwork, and partner drills. Repeating a small set of movements gives you something concrete to improve between classes. Your progress determines what comes next; there is no promise that everyone will reach the same milestone in four weeks.
New students begin with an hour to an hour and a half of training per class, and the Standard Training Program includes unlimited classes. Choose a schedule you can attend consistently. As students progress, more training time becomes available. Talk with the instructor about your experience and any movement limitations before starting.
